Business Name: Clean Juice
After spending years in the corporate world and the final 2 traveling to Asia constantly, my husband was ready for a change. So was our marriage. And our family. I had been making green smoothies for years at home and I asked my husband what he thought about opening a juice bar. He looked at me and said, ‘Let’s do it’ and we never looked back. We knew God was calling us South, so we picked up and moved outside of Charlotte, NC, and began our plans to start Clean Juice. We opened our doors on June 5, 2015, on our 8th wedding anniversary, and now, not even one year later we have a Food Truck, 2 more stores under construction, 3 under development, and have just started franchising. We want our micro business to be a household name in the next 5 years and to bless the communities we serve in the way that we have felt blessed with this opportunity.
The most rewarding part of owning a small business, besides working with my husband, is the feeling that I am not going to work every day. I wake up energized and excited to go build something that is my own. Every day is different and challenging, and rewarding. I create my own schedule and can make time to go on my kids’ field trips or get lunch with a friend – being your own boss changes the dynamic of you life and is freeing and wonderful. Furthermore, we get to know the people in our community – we feel totally ingrained in where we live and get to hear people’s stories every day. We love bringing healthy, organic, clean eating to the community we have grown to love like family.
