Business Name: Charity’s Pallet Palace
Charity’s Pallet Palace is intended to raise money for reconstruction of disfigured body left behind after spindle cell carcinoma and major weight loss.
Charity is a survivor who works a full time job in pediatric dentistry. She is a wife, a live-in caregiver for her parents and your everyday soccer mom.
Charity has been on a long journey to upcycle her life. In the past few years she has dramatically changed her health and lost over 125lbs with extreme life style changes in her diet and physical activity. Charity had Spindle Cell Carcinoma in 2004 and has never had the ability to have the reconstructive procedures she has wished for. Now that Charity has reached her health and weight requirements needed to qualify for these procedures, she has decided to turn her hobby into a business striving to earn the funds to pay for the surgeries.
“Because of the girl I am and the way I was raised I struggle asking for something that I didn’t earn on my own. Therefore I am trying to earn money to put in my “Milk Jug” fund. In efferts to make this happen I have been building stuff from reclaimed wood. I mainly upcycle pallets but I will use any odds and ends that I can come up with. This is proving to be an enjoyable hobby that allows me to craft at home where I can still care for my son and parents.”
*What I love most about my small business is that I did this all on my own. It started with making a few things for fun. Then I took the advice of loved ones telling me I could actually make money at it. I have met so many friends that started out as clients. Building products and building relationships and Upcycling Life!
